Visiting Adobe Mountain Train Museum in Glendale AZ


The Adobe Mountain Train Museum or also known as Adobe Museum Desert Railroad Park is located in the Phoenix, Arizona at 23280 N. 43rd Avenue houses the Arizona Model Railroading Society or AMRS, Maricopa Live Steamers or MLS, Arizona Garden Railway Society and Sahuaro Central Railroad Heritage Preservation Society or SCRHPS. The Adobe Mountain Train Museum is a part of the Adobe Dam Recreation Park and approximately is 160 acres big. The Adobe Mountain Train Museum is mainly open to the public for viewing and experiencing all throughout the winter months starting from mid-September to early May.

The Sahuaro Central Railroad Heritage Preservation Society Inc. (SCRHPS) and MuseumThis museum is also known as “The Railroad Park”, the Adobe Mountain Desert Railroad Park has something for everyone to experience and enjoy from Model railroading, Railroad History to the arts, outdoor recreations or whether you just want to experience the and getaway for the afternoon. This is one of the most beautiful and most unique attractions ever in town.

Within the park, we offer our guests a train ride through the natural desert to support our variety of ecosystems within the parks desert flatlands. For those who wish to come, the park is located just to the east of the Thunderbird Mountains and just the south of Pinnacle peak Road on 43rd Avenue in the city of Phoenix.

The tour or trip starts at the Adobe Station and proceeds to the West. Soon as right after the engineer leaves the station, he had already his choice of destination. He heads South towards the Go-cart track, West towards the golf course or he goes north towards the museum. They gave their visitors more than just a train ride experience. The park also offers train layouts in all scales of model railroading, a museum and locations for family picnicking and even birthday parties.

Several members who contributes not just and only their great time, effort, skills and knowledge, they also share their equipment in order to make the guests visit enjoyable and worth it.

The Arizona Model Railroading Society (AMRS)

Located in a 3000 sq. ft. club house building, the Arizona Model Railroading Society or AMRS has an HO and N scale layouts. Outside the building of the clubhouse, a G and O scale layouts are located on about 1 acre of ground. The AMRS is open to the visitors at any time of the day just as long as the AMRS members are present.

The Maricopa Live Steamers (MLS)With about 14 miles of 7.5 inch gauge track, Maricopa Live Steamers or also known as MLS, provides train rides to its visitors. MLS is also hosting different party occasions such as birthday parties and wedding.
